Biography
     
    Dawn Wink is an educator and writer whose work explores topics ranging from language and power in education to how a desert monsoon rain can inform parenting. Dawn grew up on a cattle ranch in the San Pedro River Valley in southeastern Arizona. During high school, she spent a year living in Chihuahua, Mexico and went on to receive a BA in International Relations, Spanish, and German at the University of California/Davis, living and studying in Spain and Germany.  Dawn received her Masters in Bilingual Education from California State University/Sacramento. Her first book, Teaching Passionately: What’s Love Got To Do With It?, co-written with Joan Wink, was published in 2004 by Pearson/Allyn &Bacon. Dawn is currently a professor at Santa Fe Community College, her essays and articles have appeared in  journals and magazines.  She is a columnist for Tumbleweeds, with essays focusing on how landscape and the natural world enrich parenting. Dawn’s literary work is represented by Elizabeth Trupin-Pulli of Jet Literary Associates, Inc. She lives with her family in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
